I remember hearing somewhere that they have the technology to create a pill that a man can take to prevent his sperm from fertilizing a woman, but no company is willing to make them because they don't believe there is a market. Do you think they're correct in feeling that men would not take such pills? Why do you think that is? Do you think it's fair that it's usually up to the woman to provide the birth control?

Ah, I see my information may be a little old. I'd origionally heard this on the radio, an NPR program I believe, but it was a few years ago. Nice to see that they might have been wrong. :)

I think that that would be a great idea. I know my boyfriend would take it if I told him to. There would definately be a huge market for it.

You're right though, it's not fair that it's usually up to the woman to provide the birth control. Half the time the guys don't even want to be bothered buying condoms even though they're the ones that are going to be wearing it. I definately hope they start making it soon. Can you imagine if the man and woman were to both use the birth control? It would be so much more effective in preventing unwanted pregnancies when used in combination with other methods of birth control.

There probably would be a lot of men that wouldn't want to take them because they would feel it was "hurting" their manhood and killing their little "soldiers" but in the long run, if their partner asked them to, they probably would.

I dont think men would take that. I think they would feel it's enough that they wear condoms. And I think that one common answer would be that they're not the ones getting pregnant so why should they take it? I do not believe it is fair women have to provide the birth control because when parents first find out their daughter is taking the pill it can cause a huge problem. Fathers are handing their sons condoms with no problems so giving them a birth control would be just as easy. I dont see why they wouldn't do that since women are given a hard time about everything.

For the first time, a safe, effective and reversible hormonal male contraceptive appears to be within reach. Several formulations are expected to become commercially available within the near future. Men may soon have the options of a daily pill to be taken orally, a patch or gel to be applied to the skin, an injection given every three months or an implant placed under the skin every 12 months, according to Seattle researchers.

They had one that worked perfectly in monkey tests. They did voluntary human tests at a very minimum security prison where inmates routinely went over the fence and were picked up later at the local tavern (Probably where Bush will be sent). Those on the pill ended up getting totally drunk with the first sip of alcohol and they have not yet been able to over-come this side affect.

sweety here is reality, men I bet make the pills, or at lest fund the making of the pills. men will not purchase a pill that dose that. men think they will feel less than a man if we have a low sperm count. we do not want it.
Now if all the women stop taking birth control and you get pregnant, I mean all the women stop taking it. we would start to and want a pill to do that. cause child support is expensive. more expensive than a pill.

How might that artwork? No thank you. If the pill women take is ninety 9% effective or some thing why might a guy would desire to take one too? besides, women are greater effective at remembering those issues... considering they're those that must be getting pregnant they do no longer relatively forget approximately too frequently. men does not provide a lot of a crap in the event that they forgot and probable might forget approximately frequently. besides... how in the worldwide might it artwork besides?

Male birth control pills were placed in pharmacies only a few months ago. I remember reading the announcements and hearing a few odd-ball jokes about it.

They may market it, but men may not be worried to use it because the bad result comes always on the women's side.
