Practice makes perfect--When someone wrote this they were probably looking to write a very short and meaningful quote. They probably like the two P words in it. But as far as the actual meaning--you can get better with practice doing almost anything. Maybe not perfect but possibly better than anyone else.

Bonny gave a great explanation...practice does not make the man perfect, only helps perfect skill at the task at hand.

The quote is 'practice makes perfect'.
As far as man is concerned, perfect is still a verb.

no no, practice makes perfect...it doesn't make a person entirely perfect. you may be perfect at doing your job but not perfect at other things! you're right, no one is perfect but the more you try at a particular task the more you perfect it!

No one is perfect but the task you will accomplish by practice may very well make it perfection eventually.....

aslong as you practice you don't have to be perfect, if there is an effort put forth with passion that could be perfect enough

well think of it this way.
you are practicing to strive to be perfect which you can never be but also want to be.
and also there is never enough practice now is there. so you are stuck.

Therefore --
A ham sandwich is better than eternal happiness.
Chew on that one for a while.
