I am getting ready to replant it just for the novelty into a red clay pot to put in my window. Anyone know anything about these plants and the care they require? It just says direct sunlite and water when it dries out.

It is pretty tropical in Illinois right now at midnite, the temperature is 80 degrees. Of course when it cools this fall I will bring the prickly plant in the house.

You have to keep it in the house and for it to get fruit it has to be cover or put in a dark place for 30 days and then it will get fruit.

Give them the same climate as they would have in Hawaii or the Philippines.

Bring it indoors during the winter - my stepmother grows them from time to time from the pineapple leftovers (she plants the . . . uh, head . . . with the frondy thing in the ground.)

It might be possible. If it is, that's kind of strange, though, because they need tropical climates.
