Whos your favorite driver and why?

I am a NASCAR freak but i love all kinds of racing whether it be a modified, a late model, sprint, dirt track you name it baby. I even like MX racing.
I love Tony Stewart for his passion, his determination, his ability to drive anything with wheels on it and win and his heart. He gives back ten fold and is one of Racings most awesome drivers. He just won ESPN's ESPY award for best driver. They chose the right guy

Of course I am a NASCAR fan.
I am a huge Jimmie Johnson fan (look who answered your question)
He is pretty cool. I listen to his show on XM Radio every week.
There is no quit in his whole team. He has been on top since his rookie year, he drives for the best owners (Hendrick & Gordon) in NASCAR. Look at some of the drivers that have been at it a lot longer than he has, and can not post the same numbers in wins, top 10's or Daytona 500 winner.
If you look at guys like Ryan Newman, who beat Jimme for the Rookie Of The Year, what has he done since? I beleive Jimmie will be the 2006 Nextel Cup Champion. I think he is the best because the numbers say so, and I like the guy.
Dale Earnhardt Jr. may be the most popular driver, but Jimmie is a better racer, and he has a better team.

I love NASCAR. I've been a fan for about 6 years. My favorite drivers are Dale Jarrett and Elliott Sadler. They are both class acts. I know their season hasn't been going very well, but they can still drive those racecars just as good as anyone when they are put into a car that handles good and will carry the speed. They both do a lot to help charities and do what they can for those that aren't as fortunate. A friend of mine has had the opportunity to meet Dale a number of time, and she always talks about how curtious he is with all the fans. Both of these drivers will always be #1 in my book.

Hands down Kahne. His whole life revolved around racing. His grand father built him a dirt go-cart track on the farm when he was young and stuck with it ever since. He is one of the only racers who didn't have a bankroll to finance his dreams. He did it the old fashion way, by winning.

Had it not been for other drivers knocking him out and himself taking risks, he would have won 10 more cup races then he has today.

I see so many people who pick a driver because they are a past cup champion.

Kahne will be a champion one day and I will stick with him through his career.

I never have seen him whine about another driver when they take him out. So many drivers cry about getting wrecked and whine to the media. I have never seen Kahne complain. He just sucks it in and gets ready for the next event.

NASCAR fan? Yes I am,,for atleast 40 years now!!! I've had many favorites through the years,,starting with ole Richard Petty back in his days,,,the 64-67 years,,then it was David Pearson,,soon it became Bill Elliott,,now its Kasey Kahne,,and why?? Petty was all you heard about at that time,,then I picked a magazine and read about Pearson,,like what I read,,,soon became a fan of Elliott for the reason of how he started(with nothing)made history with so many things he has done,speed records,,the number of wins in a season,,making up laps in a race(no lucky dog then)and winning it!! a quite-clean driver,most popular driver 16 times, Kahne,,becuase he's new,young and very talented,,,but there many good drivers out there,,,and we can't all be fans of the same guy now,,can we?? atleast not in this house

Yes, I am a Nascar fan. My favorite driver now is Carl Edwards. I was a Bill Elliott fan until he retired. I still pull for him when he races, but I really don't think he will ever win again.

I have two:

Kasey Kahne--I have followed him since his first Nextel race, I knew he had it in him, it just took awhile! I stayed up late to watch him get his first win and am so happy he has finally got it this year!

Jimmie Johnson--He is just an awesome driver! He is great on saving his car, he obviously great at winning! The man has held the number one in standings the majority of the season this year and half of last year! He kicks ***, I could care less that he is on Gordon's team, he isn't Gordon!

jlacroix1758 it would be nice to see jeff win the championship this year but he would have to win every race until the time for the chase but I don't see that happening. maybe next year will be his year....I'll be happy if he just MAKES the chase this year. if he finishes at least in the top 10 he'll be fine
