Please don't take this the wrong way but surely you Americans would find better, more accurate and pertinant answers to your questions on the American version of Yahoo Answers?
I could understand it if you were asking questions about the UK and Ireland or issues involving us but, for example, a question the other day about marriage licenses in the US - why would you expect us to know that?!
And to be fair, it isn't just Americans, there are other nationalities, it is just there are more of you than most. So WHY are you here?

Ahhhh - Already it becomes clear. When I go to answers.yahoo.com answers it redirects me to UK.answers.yahoo.com so I assumed that there were seperate sites for different countries (a reasonable assumption bearing in mind that yahoo does discrimate - you can only get on various sections and into various chat rooms if you are from a particular country or use a proxy from that country). Please note those people accusing me of discrimination - I didn't say I didn't want your opinion or that I minded you being here, I was just questioning whether it was the best place for you to get answers to your questions (based on the assumption that there were seperate sites and we can't be us in the UK are less likely to be able to answer US biased questions).

I'm not completely clear on how Yahoo Answers works and how their portal is geographically distinguished but I live in the U.S. and I saw your question on what I perceive as the U.S. version of Yahoo Answers. So, perhaps Yahoo just aggregates all of the English-speaking boards, for instance, and rebrands them regionally around the world.

Yahoo! Answers is not just for the UK sweetie!
All English-speakers are thrown in together. You will need to put up with us Yanks and the Canadians and the Aussies as well as a bunch of other foreigners that speak English (or not!).
I suggest to everyone that you identify where you are in your question and you will likely get more good answers.

It's all the same. Yahoo answers isn't separated by Country. Besides, that would be pretty boring. Enjoy the multi-national input. Or, if you can't, I suggest you find something a little more suitable to your narrow focus.

Could it be Yahoo, doesn't discriminate.I have yet to see anything on my Yahoo for country directions. Has anyone else?
It is open to all. Don't like Americans find another site, where they Do discriminate.

I didn't seek you out--I just started answering (and asking) the questions that interested me. At least that's our official answer. The actual one is blatant cultural imperialism but we'd never admit to that. Why do you ask the question? Xenophobia?
Oh, and the reason there are so many "more of us" is because we're just so much more fertile. Which brings us back to the question of marriage licenses...

There is no Yahoo! Answers for any specific country. It's all on yahoo.com. It's directed to everyone. If you post a question, people from whatever country can answer it!

I am on the American site, I don't know what Yahoo is doing. Are they putting all the questions together by language?

I am British and I think it's nice to get a different prospectus from a different country. Don't you think it's nice to socialise with everyone and not hide in a corner with your own kind... Only a suggestion from a Geordie who would other wise never get to talk to different people from all corners of the world.

I agree with you. And when people start saying things like 'hey, will a girl talk to me cause i'm bored?', it just gets really silly. Yahoo answers is for proper questions such as 'will my dog hurt himself if he swallows a chicken bone?', or 'do you know a shop that sells zoo tycoon?'
