No, you should be off birth control for about 6 months before trying to concieve. Get a saliva ovulation predictor kit for about $20 at any drugstore or Wal-Mart. Keep track of your periods when you do have them, start date and end. Then use the predictor, they work well, I conceived my second child with it after 7 years of irregular periods and weight issues. Good luck.

Mrs Medina, Please, what ever you do, DO NOT go back on the pill! That will only make things worse. Depending on how long you have been off the pill your system may still be regulating itself. It make take a month to six months to have regular periods again or you may need some help from a Dr. They would probably put you on Clomid. I know you were just at your Gyno but did you make sure and tell them you were trying to conceive. They need to do blood work on your and your fiance. Give them a call and see what they say about seeing you again before you conceive.

The first day of your period is the first day of a new cycle. Count ten days and go get an ovulation predictor kit. It will let you know when you are about to release your egg. Do not wait until then to have sex. Since sperm can live 3-5 days you want to try to have some floating around up there when you do ovulate. You only want to have sex every other day to give the sperm a chance to be at full potential. When you do have sex, stay in bed for 20 min to an hour with a pillow under your bottom. Good luck and remember to have fun. Making it too much like a science project can just make things works. Jenni

Birth control pills will not 'regulate your cycle' so I do not suggest following that advice - had I listened to my doc when he told me that I would have never had my daughter! If your periods are irregular due to PCOS then try a low carb/low glycemic index diet...

The pill can do more harm to your cycle than most people think. Especially if used off and on. Have you ever heard of natural family planing? NFP can be effective to help to achieve or not to achieve pregnancy at a 99% effective rate. for more info on NFP go to www.ccli.org. they can help you.

i do not imagine that is a lot less complicated even as no longer attempting. you only are not waiting. waiting continuously feels like it takes a lengthy time period. How lengthy were you no longer attempting before you purchased pregnant with your son? possibly years.
