WENT TO A PARTY
I went to a party,
And remembered what you said.
You told me not to drink, Mom
So I had a Sprite instead.
I felt proud of myself,
The way you said I would,
That I didn't drink and drive,
Though some friends said I should.
I made a healthy choice, and your advice to me was right, The
party
finally ended, And the kids drove out of sight.
I got into my car,
Sure to get home in one piece,
I never knew what was coming, Mom
Something I expected least.
Now I'm lying on the pavement,
And I hear the policeman say,
The kid that caused this wreck was drunk, Mom, his voice seems far
away.
My own blood's all around me,
As I try hard not to cry.
I can hear the paramedic say,
This girl is going to die.
I'm sure the guy had no idea,
While! he was flying high,
Because he chose to drink and drive,
Now I would have! to die.
So why do people do it, Mom
Knowing that it ruins lives?
And now the pain is cutting me,
Like a hundred stabbing knives.

Tell Sister not to be afraid, Mom
Tell Daddy to be brave,
And when the breath has gone out of me and I have died,
Put "Daddy's
Girl" on my grave.
Someone should have taught him,
That it's wrong to drink and drive.
Maybe if his parents had,
I'd still be alive.
My breath is getting shorter, Mom
I'm getting really scared.
These are my final moments,
And I'm so unprepared.
I wish that you could hold me Mom,
As I lie here and die, and wish that I could tell you, I love
you, and
goodbye.

Driving drunk or under any type of impairment is absolutely wrong. The people that do it are selfish in the sense that they do not care what their actions can cause. Dont we have enough distractions as we are driving, ie watching the traffic, cel phones, adjusting the car stereo are just a few. Feel proud of yourself for not drinking and driving. It is unfortunate that you have become a victim. Thankfully you have survived but with some deficit. If anyone wants to drink at a party or other event, why is it so hard to have a designated driver at their disposal or even call a cab. When my children were teenagers I always told them that if they find themselves impaired, I would rather them to call me for a ride that try to drive.

Drinking and driving are not a good mix. Kids have no idea what they are doing, how many lives they affect. It is really sad. They think it's cool until they are serving a long jail sentence and have to live with their actions. Sometimes I don't know what the world has come to

its the first time i heard this so thanks for shareing it with me. its sad but it will happen no matter how many times people get told they will still do it. more out of lazyness because they cannot be bothered to order a taxi or wait for public transport. so they take the quicker option. and the worst. my nephew had just passed his test. got his self his first car. and took his pals out for a drink and yes he got drunk and drove every one home that night. the police stopped him on a routine check. and yes he was 3 times over the legal limit. at court he got a 2 year bann. for his 1st ever offence. he had to take a advanced test which cost him 175.00 english pounds. pay for a blood test to prove to the courts he no longer drinks which cost him a further 75.00. and he has to pay 55.00 to get his licence back from the dvlc. he paid a hard price for a couple of hours out with his pals. and he gets his licence back in a few months from now. but lucky enough no one was hurt and there was no crashes. he was lucky and so was every one else. and no he swears he will never do this again.

I think that one drink is too many to drive. Of course, I have never drank, I don't believe in Drinking at all. I think that there should be stiffer penalties for drunk driving. If someone is killed because of a drunk driver- they should be tried with Murder. If they seriously hurt someone because of it- attempted Murder.

My friend died due to a drunken driver going into the opposite lane and hitting him head-on. The pressure of the wreck was so intense, he died on contact, and he wasn't even able to donate organs.
