I've been reading a bunch of the posts on questions about Islam or Muslims. It appears that anything you say, whether good or bad, is taken offensively. If we can openly criticize other religions, why can't we debate about this one too?
Is it of fear of sounding politically incorrect?

Muslims are afraid to hear something against their thoughts coz they think that they may listen to something right (if they think about)so they try not not listen to anything that make them out of control, however not all muslims like that, ones who know alot about Islam can answer u believe me.ones who don't answer or listen to u that means they know nothing about Islam and Quran, coz most people don't understand words and expressions that islam use.as an arabic man i misunderstand alot of things in Islam.

I dont know, reading all the answer boards and others over the internet, it just seems people have a lot of bad things to say about muslims, most of them not rightly so,

For example

They're all terrorists, ****in camel humpers, they all are fanatics, they are backward, uncivilized.

These are pretty hate inducing and only narrow the gap through which people might be able to understand another culture rather than perpetuate stereotypes and blatant messages of ingorant hate.

Personally I wouldn't like being called that.

The muslim religion is not the subject of criticism for most people. It is the radical fascist proclaimed muslims that are the big problem. These animals are not a chaste group of people. They cut the heads off of people to weaken the resolve of the American people. And they have prevailed. The Supreme Court ruled that we should treat the prisoners at Guantanamo with the same respect as those warriors who fight a civilized war. What a mistake....these prisoners are nothing but animals who need to be led around with chains around their neck and made to pose naked. Not too bad compared to having your eyes poked out, arms and legs broken, genitals cut off and stuffed in your mouth, and then having your heart cut out and then post your picture on the internet so you can weaken the resolve of your enemy.

I'm a muslim and I dont mind any debates. But debates have rules, what most of those posts do is insult the religion without wanting to listen to our side.

You can criticize our religion, we don't mind, all we are asking for is for you to listen when we clarify your misconceptions.

All you want to do is insult muslims and the religion, you cant stomach our answers.

Theres been a lot of people trying to make all the muslims look like the ones in Al-Qaida...and its been going on for so long that they've grown bitter about it and they think anyone saying something about islam is out to make them look deviants...I can't say I blame them..though I'm muslim and if you say something about islam thats false...i'd just laugh for five minutes than call you an idiot and leave :)

Exactly, nobody wants to be chastisized for telling the truth. If people actually did their research about islam, and took note of who is running the show for them people might be singing a different tune. Everyone it seems lately is so afraid of sounding politically incorrect that it is inhibiting our ability to see things as they are.

It is so wrong because nowaday, you cant say anything without offending anyone elses beliefs. But if someone said something about my beliefs, I have to take it. with a smile. I am Roman Catholic, so I hear it all.
I personal say, "take it with a grain of salt". I do. You need to have thick skin & let it roll off of your back. If you are still standing, breathing, & are able to talk. Guess what? You're still alive arent you? Let it go will ya

Right, I think that it is astonishing what I heard a representative of Lebanon say today. He said (get this) that they need the worlds help to exercise their sovereignty!
If a country can not control whether missiles are launched from their soil, what sovereinty do they really have?

This is a great question i have been trying to figure out also. Muslims are extremely defensive of what they know to be a very violent and hostile religion. No one wants to offend the "religion of peace"

Radical Islam will tell you that any criticism of Islam is blasphemy, punishable by death.
