Unless you have good accurate birth chart done by a professional, then numberology would be a more accurate personality profile. This being because the position of different planets in your birth chart will effect the basic sun sign traits for your sign. Where as the number of your day of birth is constant, the number that is associated with your name is constant. It doesn't matter which year you were born in because that too will remain constant. Where as two people born on the same day two years apart, in astrology could be extremely different because of rising or desending planets, those two people would still have the exact same primary birth number!
So unless you have had a birth chart done, Numberology is much easier to read for a commoner.
However, it won't tell you a daily forcast, only what day would be ideal for a peticular event.
It also comes in handy for naming children!

There ais absolutely no evidence anywhere that numerology or atrology have any meaning or accuracy in anything. It would be nice if the paranormal could be demonstrated but it never has been. If you think either practice is accurate then there is more than a million dollars up for grabs for anyone who can show any form of paranormal ability. Why not go for it.

Astrology by far is more accuate when it's based on your date, place and exact time of birth. There are pages and pages on interpretations to be pulled out of your natal chart.
You can also cast other types of charts for even more information: transits, solar and lunar returns, secondary progressed charts, solar directed charts, synastry charts, composite charts, harmonics etc.

astrology seems to be more generalized and refer to themes of your life while numerology can at times give you more concrete info and guidance.
