Do you like to be the first to answer?

Question

When you see a particularly good question pop up here on Yahoo answers, do you like to be first to answer? When you see an especially stupid question, do you like to be the first to hone your sarcastic wit against the asker's poor syntax and grammar? Have you ever gone so far as to enter a meaningless answer right away to save your position, so you can later go back and unleash upon the world the answer of correctitude??

I do like to be the first to answer, but I am very much wrapped up in giving a good answer, one in which I offer my reasoning. I'm pretty sure that is what the questioner wants.

"My kitty is eating grass. Should I worry?" A simple yes or no answers the question, but the reasoning behind it is probably more important than the simple yes or no.

I like to be the first to answer a question. It guarantees that nobody will have beat you to posting the answer. It also gives you a sense of pride noing that you replied so fast to a question. I don't go as far as posting a quick answer to be first (and then go back to edit it). I find this pointless, and I think it makes you look worse to the rest of the community.

The only good thing about being the first answer is that when it goes to voting you get the most vote b/c it the firs one...But I don't like to be the first answer, I want to see what everyone else has answered so that I can be different...

Yes, I do like to be the first to answer because I feel like if my question gets voted for, I will receive the votes first!

yes, but sometimes I like taking my time because stupid answers will be before my BRILLIANT answer, making it all the more SPECTACULAR
