Dear Mom -when my daughter was 6 months old, I had her ears pierced. They were so cute. As she grew older, we discovered that she has skin problems and piercing was probably the worse thing we could have done. I now believe that the idea of piercing is something the young lady might want to look forward to as a 'rite of passage'. The way our young people grow up so fast today, they have nothing to look forward to anymore. I was 17 before my ears were pierced - 15 before I was allowed to wear hose. Who knew?

Claires and Piercing Pagoda would only do it after the baby was three months. Club Libby Loo will do it at any age. The reason there is the 3 month requirement is b/c they want to ensure your baby has had at least some of her vaccinations to keep her safe. don't do it after 4 months though, because then baby is coordinated enough to pull at her ears.
I know that some cultures pierce ears at a very young age just because it is tradition, so ignore all those people who are calling you stupid and vane.

I got mine when I was 3 months old. I had my daughters when she was 6 month. I got hers done at the mall (was one of those places that are like in the walk/isle way, and they were very clean and safe...my daughter didn't start pulling at them till she was 8 months old but that was because they were new and didn't know what they were..but she doesn't play with them anymore..she loves them and she's 2.
Women have been doing this for YEARS!!! I think it's just natural to get their daughters ears pierced at a young age...if they decide they don't want them later on...They can always take them out and never wear them again....

Myself I think it is very cute to see a baby with it's ears pierced. My mom got mine done when I was 2 weeks old, but that was 22 years ago. I have two girls now and both of them have thier ears pierced. They were both 3 months old, neither one messes with them, and my oldest is 4. I recommend getting them done as early as you can because they are less likely to play with them. I took them to claires in the mall. Just remember to keep them clean.

I had my ears peirced as an infant. I have always found it funny that people are outraged at peircing an infants ears but they are very eager to circumsize them. Both cause pain and are usually done for cosmetic reasons. (Remember that good hygeine can prevent penile infections and that ear infections are more common.)
Just call places listed in the phone book and ask friends and family where they had their ears peirced. Make sure that the environment is clean and sterile and needles and such are taken out of the package in front of you. Clean her ears as recommended and I highly suggest hypoallergenic earings. I was very allergic to regular jewelry and it took skin off of the ears.

I took both my girls to Piercing Pagoda in the mall when they were 2 months old. They did a very good job and we have never had a problem with the piercings.

I got my daughter ear pierce when she was not even one year old and it better reason why it heals fast and no plm and make sure you always find place where they do and ask them to have everything clean. You know when you get your ear pierce you know what best for you ya know. For a guy like me I glad I did and my daughter now 3 years old have no plm with ear pierce. she knows that she have them on and we alwasy teach her not to do that and she never bother to mess up with it. and and when we ask her want change new ear rings and she said yes yes yes. smiling.

i took my daughter to a piercing pagoda, your baby has to have their 8 week shots and you have to be present. but i agree it's cute and eliminates sex confusion by strangers. just make sure they clean her ears 1st with alcohol and the take the tool out of the packaging in front of you.

I cant see why you would want too, i think it looks nasty for a little baby to have pierced ears. Ask your self why You want to do that is it purely for vanity.
