My daughter gets real bad diaper rash, I wash her with a warm wash cloth. The only diaper wipes I can use on her during these times are Pampers Sensitive Wipes. Try rubbing vasaline on her. Boudreaux's Butt Paste is a great ointment to use.

If the rash is concentrated in the creases of her legs, and if the rash looks dry, crusty and has tiny pimples, then it is most likely fungal (yeast.) A regular diaper rash (bacterial) tends to be slick and shiny. You can tell the difference by looking. If you've tried Desitin or Balmex and kept her dry and it's not improving, then try otc Lotrimin or Monistat. If it's yeast, the rash will immediately start to improve. If this doesn't help, have her doctor call the pharmacy and have a medicated compound made with Balmex. Sometimes rashes (bacterial or yeast) can be pesky and return. Once the rash is gone, continue with the medication for several days to ensure the underlying culprit is gone. And be sure to keep the baby dry to prevent the infection from returning.

My guess is you are using disposable diapers. Sad thing is they get very warm on hot days and can aid in the onset of diaper rash. My oldest grandson had that problem. I got to keep him every day while his mother went to work. I went out and bought cloth diapers and kept them clean daily so I would have a full dozen each day. I didn't put plastic pants on either as that defeats the purpose of a cloth diaper. When he would go to sleep I would unpin the diaper and let the air at it all. By the evening of the first day you could see it drying up. The next key is to make sure they are 100% dry all the time. for the first few days you could put Mercuricrome on it once everyday after a bath. I would not do more than 3 days.

Use lots of Desitin and some powder. Use it at every changing, and check her often to change her as soon as she is wet. Also do you think the rash is being caused by her diet? Has she eaten a lot of anything lately that she normally doesn't eat. I have heard of things like pine apple and other juices with a lot of acid in it that can cause diaper rash. Treat the rash and think about what she is eating or drinking. Hopefully this helps, because kids with diaper rash are no fun.

The diaper rash sounds like plain old regular ordinary baby diaper rash, the result of wet and dirty diapers.
Nothing to fret over although. I would give your daughter some much needed air time without diapers, and before bedtime when you diaper change her for the last and final time for the night, a coat of Baby Vaseline or medicated diaper rash ointment to help form a barrier to keep wetness away.

Try Calmoseptine. It's non-prescription, but you still have to ask the pharmacist for it. It's not expensive though...about $6.00 for a large tube, but a little bit goes a LONG way. Like most diaper ointments out there, this one has a zinc oxide base, but it also contains calamine and menthol, so it's very soothing. It's also seriously thick, so unlike A&D, for example, once you put it on, it stays on. Most of the other ointments out there soak right into the diaper as soon as you put the diaper on your baby, leaving her sore butt exposed to urine and feces. Calmoseptine lasts through several diaper changes, depending on how thickly you put it on. It's the only thing I'll use for my two boys. Usually clears up diaper rash over night.
If she actually has an open sore on her bottom, you can clean it well, and use a tiny bit of Neosporin on the sore place a few times a day.

Try Lotromin cream for a couple days. Sometimes the rash is yeast and not just diaper rash and if you put creams and powders on it, it just aggrivates it and causes it to get worse.
You can also buy over the counter antifungals like generic lotromin which may be cheaper.
Air that baby's butt as much as possible and keep her dry. Hope that helps.

Ok this is going to seem weird but trust me it WORKS!!
Mix equal parts of Hydrocortizone cream, Maalox (generic brand is ok and make sure it's regular not mint or anything like that) Vaginal cream (like monistat) and diaper rash ointment.
Mix them all together and apply a thin layer to her bottom.
My daughter had a bad rash and this cleared it up like real fast. Yeah the monistat kinda made me glance at the doc weird but it really does work.
What I did to equal out the parts of all the ingredients was I used either a table spoon or a teaspoon (measuring spoon) and put it into a old baby food jar. that way it could be saved and reused without having to throw it away.
If THAT does NOT work, which I got this from the pediatrician, then you might want to take her to her physician.
Hope this helps...

I recently had a baby, about one month ago. During my pregnancy a friend of mine told me about a diaper rash cream called "Dr. Smith's" diaper rash cream. It will clear up a diaper rash overnight. I really am hooked on this stuff and haven't used anything but Dr. Smith's.The only store I could find it at was Walgreens. The cream works amazingly well. It is a bit more pricey than your other brands, but I've used nothing but Dr. Smith's. Its worth giving a try. You can find it at Walgreens store for about $8.00. Hope this helps!

I use baby powder or cornstarch they both work really well, clears it up within a day or 2. Sprinkle a little on and lightly rub it in the skin. I tried the butt paste cream and I dont think it worked as well as the powder. Definately make sure u change her diaper often - Do not over wipe and use the sensitive skin wipes. If it still doesnt go away there u may consider changing the brand of diaper you are using.
