I agree yet when i have to work a 9 till 5 shift i always think of the film and start singing the song...........odd

First of all the name of the film is 9 to 5. Not Working 9 to 5, and no it is not the most pointless film ever. It not only stars some of the best actors in the film industry but the best three women ever. Lily Tomlin, Dolly Parton, and yes even Jane Fonda (if you can look past her Nam protests by sitting on the top of a tank from the bad guys). I feel this film is up there in the high ranks of the funniest films ever. But that is just my opinion.

What the film that is on right now on BBC1 in the UK? If so, its so great thats why I am here on Yahoo Answers instead of watching it!
No seriously, I remember watching it when I was a kid & finding it amusing...its 70-80's era & is a easy comedy to watch, most women can identify with that lecherous nasty male boss at work or knows someone like that. Yes I suppose its a little pointless but most films are - just a bit of escapism.

Actually, the name of the movie is "9 to 5". It's just a comedy - every movie doesn't need to be an epic!
I thought it was pretty good - and for the the "time it was made" it was really pretty cutting edge. Everyone who's ever had a boss that's a real creep can certainly relate.
It also has a pretty good sountrack and a HIT title song!

For starters, lets clarify something. The titls is just called 9 to 5. I love this movie. I own it on DVD, and watch it a lot. It still somes on tv sometimes and I watch it then too. I love the way the girls fantasize about doing in the boss. The whole movie was loaded with conedy, and gave an accurate assessment of what the workforce is really like.

There is nothing to discuss!!! It is impossible for a film starring the marvellous Dolly Parton, who is renowned (amongst many things) for her momentous cleavage to be pointless???!!!
Working nine to five what a way to make a living....do doo do ....see I'm off now humming away!

It's a funny film and very forward thinking for it's time as it showed how women were treated at work such as the man in charge getting all the congratulations for ideas and work the women had done it also showed how impossible it was for women to get on and get promoted.
It's alsp got a brilliant soundtrack and is very funny in parts

Never seen it... but I think About A Boy is the worst film ever...
I actually wrote back to the company who made it and told me that they owed me my money back and the few hours of my life that I wasted watching it.

I quite enjoyed it, but not for the 17th time. I think the networks got that film on a cheap lease. I like the bit when they strap their boss to the ceiling. Girl Power! err...
