What kind of side effects have you had? Any problems with low/high blood sugars? Any stomach problems? Any hot flashes or feeling shaky? I've been on Metformin (1500mg) for 4 months and have lost close to 20 pounds. Just wondering if what I am feeling is normal.

If this NORMAL, I'm afraid to see or experience what's NOT NORMAL

I take 1500mg a day also. I always get the shakes if I wait too long to eat, or if I eat the wrong thing-like too much carbs/sugar and not enough protein. In the beginning I had the cramps and diarrhea, but that's all gone now. Make sure you take it with meals and at the same time everyday. Also, ask your doctor, you may not need such a high dose. I know other PCOS sufferers who take only 1000mg daily. Let your Dr. know if it bothers you. Good luck!

I take 1500 mg of Metformin for PCOS and insulin resistance. next week i bypass up yet another 500 mg. If i'm no longer PG in 2 extra months then clomid will be further reason we are TTC. the first month I took metformin my cycle went 31 days and many times its 29. like you my cycles are commonplace. Take a HPT. good success to you!

I have only been on met (1000mg) for almost a month. I have had problems with cramps, gas, diarrhea, and very nauseous. I find that it helps if you take it with a lot of food and water.
