Well, please don't use many outdated names. I hate it when I watch a modern tv show or read a modern book and characters have names like Charlie, Bruce, Doris, or Glenda.
Here are some suggestions.
Mentors:Kelly, Melanie, Brian, Jack
Teachers: Carla (get a Hispanic last name, there aren't enough hispanic people in literature) Michael
Popular Kids:Brittany, Cassandra, Claire,Troy, Corbin
Normal kids: Rebecca, Melissa, Derrick, Peter
Main Character:Alex (either boy or girl)

My number one best source for finding names is ...
The Phone Book.
My second choice is baby name books.
Aside from that, do a google search for "first names," or "baby names."
