The emotional part of donating an egg doesn't bother me, I'd do it for the money. But I want to know if you've done it and if it's worth the money. I know all what's involved with the shots and traveling and doctors visits. $5000 for 6-8 weeks isn't bad money. How much work did you have to miss? Please only reply if you've gone through the process (please include the company you donated through) or have good advice.

I'm sorry, I haven't done it. If I were younger, I'd probably do it today, as I have a shut-off notice from the electric company.
But I simply had to respond when I read the other answers.
First, it is LOVE of money that is the root of all evil.
Second, no child of yours will be out there, as I'm sure you've already figured out. A child who developed from a cell of yours will be out there, nothing more. (You leave thousands of your cells on the floor and hairbrush every day. With the proper manipulation, any one of those could become your clone.) The fact that it will be the beloved child of a couple desperate to have it is just an added bonus.
I hope someone jumps in with the information you need.

It is a touchy subject. Can you live knowing you have a child of yours out there? That you probably will never see.
Is there any other reason besides money that you want to do this?
If your ready to do this emotionally and physically I wish you the best with your decision.
Be 110% that you can live w/ this choice.

I wish I knew. It seems I can't carry a child of my own and I would love to help someone else have a child.

hell no don't do it for money for the root of all evil is money.. so.. sell ur egg is like selling your kids- man o man .. what a society were in now playing god and frankenstein.. why not sell your sex in porn then? what about in future? they need to know where u are as there is a rare disease life threatening thing comes up then the mom has to hunt u down or the kid then goes thru how come and then u are really biologically part of that child ever think of the pain they might have to go thru in case something ha-pens all the diseases and blood transfusions etc my gf did that wished she never did as now she saw the kid and wants to visit now.. the mom who carries it and not her egg is just the vessel to harbor it it isnt her blood and genetics!! yea she eats but it isnt her genetics its urs! and the husbands
