You're either thinking phonemic awareness or phonics.... do you want the kids to know how to spell the sounds or just know the sounds orally/auditorally?
Phonics is sound-spelling connections where as phonemic awareness is just the awareness of the parts of spoken words, syllables, beginning/ending sounds, etc.

try to surf the net...or better yet purchase books with integration of different subjects to tackle diff subject areas at the same time...in the mena time check this site...u can download samples here and get an idea how to do it
