What is your opinion of television now a days? Is it too violent, or is it too graphic? I am just curious to know because I have the concept, if you don't wanna watch it, change the channel.

Yeah, I agree with the whole, "change the channel thing" - but many people especially kids may just watch for the cool factor and pick up negative things from there. I don't believe its to violent, but I do believe a lot of things have been dumbed down and don't encourage children to think for themselves, which is obviously not so good... especially when they start mimicking some of the unsavoury characters...

The quality of shows have diminished greatly. Just about every reality show is a waste of air space with stupid situations/challenges and/or annoying celebrities. Too many sitcoms rely on dumb or annoying characters and situations that probably wouldn't happen in anyone's real life. Cartoons are getting too random and trying too hard to make people laugh. Dramas rely too much on really serious and controversial issues to make people watch them. Stand up shows like Chapelle Show and Mind of Mencia have all jumped the shark, taken bad directions, and are too repetitive. Variety shows like Mad TV and SNL are much less (more so for SNL) than they once where because of worse writing and better actors leaving. Game shows (not really Price is Right or Jeopardy but definitely Wheel, Deal or no Deal, and the Gameshow Marathon) now take too many notes from reality shows and use too many gimmicks and annoying celebrities. I have never liked talent shows that much except for watching bad tryouts and they are probably the only thing that have stayed the same throughout the last 5 or so years. Most children's television isn't that bad but shows like Power Rangers are nothing like they once where. The creativity of shows and TV movies has also gone down. I would much rather watch TV Land or Nick at Nite anytime then most of the stuff that is on TV today.

There's too much "bad" TV. Either it has no plot, or it is just a copy of the dozen other shows that went before it with a minute twist, and a new set.

Changing the channel only moves you to more of the same.

Yes there is too much violence on TV. I'm sure it influences some people and children.

But i don't think it will change as there are lots of people out there who enjoy that sort of TV.

And your concept is so true and it's what I do anyway!

It should be cleaner! Too much violence and sex. Someone ought to clean it up a bit!
