Never, ever get your ears pierced at a mall jewelry store. The equipment is filthy and the staff are poorly trained. Go to a body piercing place and get it done by someone who is trained and experienced to do it with a needle. You will heal faster, have less scarring and will have access to excellent aftercare.
I can't believe all the people who are saying Claire's! I think I might be sick. Their equipment is disgusting. The gun (which cannot be properly sterilized) is kept under the counter or in a filthy cupboard.
Make sure they use a clean needle. If you don't see them take it out of the package then ask for one. If they say it's okay, say no thank you and leave.

i have 6 in each ear, all done at claires/icing in different malls, they all are awesome, and the cartilage did not hurt like i thought it would, feels the same as the bottom, although i got the top cartilage pierced around 3/4 mths ago and yet they still hurt when i sleep on them. but worth the tiny bit of discomfort cause they look awesome.

At a piercing parlor. It costs more, but it's way better for your ears because they don't just shoot the earring through, they make a hole and put the jewelry in. Plus, it's probably way more sanitary and the guys who do it look like total freaks but are the nicest people you'll ever meet.

If you want to know what store to go to I would say Claires. I had mine done there about 10 years ago when I was 13. I also had my daughters done their when she was 3 months old. They do a really good job.

The store that sells earing is a place where you should get your ears pierced. These days, the ear piercer is like a stapler that stables e/r into your ear.

I got my pierced at the mall when I was 13, years and years ago, but that's where I would go.
