Have you ever considered trying chiropractic care?

Contrary to popular belief, chiropractic is more than just "neck and back pain." Chiropractic is founded in the belief that our Central Nervous System (brain, spinal cord, and nerves) controls EVERY bodily function. A misalignment of the vertebrae (what chiropractic calls a subluxation) could pinch the nerves running out between them, causing pain, numbness/tingling, or any type of general malfunction in that nerve's corresponding body part. This is why chiropractic has great success in helping people with migraine headaches. I'm not saying that this is a guaranteed cure for your problem, but it is definitely something to think about!

There are many different chiropractic techniques out there, so it would be best for you to ask around, visit a few offices and pick the doctor that you are most comfortable with. Taking pain medication only masks the symptom of pain but does nothing to correct the root if the problem. No matter what you decide to do, I sincerely wish you the best of luck.

My doctor gave me caffeine pills. I drink coffee - 1 or 2 cups daily - instead of taking the pills. I'll also eat at least 1/2 a banana when I first begin to feel the headache coming on. A cool damp cloth placed behind your neck, at on your forehead will help a little. There are many good books out there, but I trust what Susun Weed writes in hers. http://www.susunweed.com/WiseWomanHerbals.htm

My migraines steal my sight for roughly 30 minutes.. afterward, I am exhausted.

You need to find the cause and eliminate it.
Drink lots of water. Get a drink every time you use the bathroom, for an easy way to get into the habit.
It may be a food sensitivity, ask your doctor for likely foods, or you can try a raw foods diet, or BRAT diet, and re-introduce things one at a time to test them.
Also, reduce any possible stress, possibly see a counselor, or set up a weekly appointment with a friend to talk and de-stress.

A note to an above post, just a coincidence, but although caffeine and bananas may work for them, those are two things that actually GIVE me migraines. :)

Simple home remedies for headache include rest and citrus fruits. You may have tried OTC drugs such as acetaminophen or paracetamol, ibuprofen, but be careful in taking these. If your headache recurs often and its feels really bad, I suggest you seek consultation first to know possible causes such as hypertension. Hope you won't take it for granted.

Drink plenty of water and use a magnet with a gauss strength of 1500 just as you feel it coming on. Put the magnet at the base of your skull or on a temple. It will prevent it from occuring. The best thing is, the magnet only costs like $60. A lot cheaper than all those meds.

It's called a "migrane", margarine is artificial butter. You'd better check with a doctor in medicine to prescribe the correct pain killer. I, myself, am afflicted with migrane since childhood and there's no remedy but pain killers.

Get a cold wash cloth and put it on your head and lay down on a bed.

Also, if you have a painkiller like "Motrin" or "Advil" take one of those.

If the problem persists, you might have to go to a doctor to get a special medicine for migraines.
My Mother has really bad migraines repeatedly and this is what she had to do.

coffee.....the caffeine helps a little but nothing better than prescriptions....if you're taking meds and they're not working your doctor can give you a medication administered by needle the is some pretty powerful stuff...will kill the migrane within 30 minutes. i'd go that route
