The greatest movie in the world is Lawrence of Arabia. No film has such an epic scope of so many characters, beautiful landscapes, and technical masterpiece, yet no other film has ever dug into a man's head or studied a character like it. At almost four hours long, it never once dulls down, and is still all too short. Close runner-ups are The Godfather, Amadeus, Raging Bull, Pulp Fiction, and Rocky.

Casablanca and the Godfather. Bogie and Bergman still send shivers through you with every scene. And the Corleone family saga is elevated to masterful heights by maybe the finest cast in movie history: Marlon Brando, Al Pacino, Robert Duvall, James Caan (his Sonny may be one of the most compelling and dynamic movie characters ever), John Cazale, Diane Keaton, etc.

GONE WITH THE WIND - its long, but worth sitting through and the first time in the history of movies that someone has dared defy the whole "cliche" thing and now everyone has tried to mimic Margaret Mitchell (which although admittedly started out as a book) - but it's great filming and acting, especially for something created in the early days... a close second would definately be the LOTR triology.

The best movie of all time is Lawrence of Arabia. It is hip to say GWTW is the best movie but, quite frankly, it is overlong and boring. Lawrence has some of the best action scenes ever filmed and the best musical score ever written. It is a fascinating look into the early 20th century middle east in comparison to what is going on there now.

Pulp Fiction. I believe the movie was a very risky decision on Quentin Tarantino's part. Also a damn good Dialogue throughout the whole movie.

Currently a Chinese film entitled "Seven Swords". The plot is sort of Seven Samurai/The Magnificent Seven. The photographing is stunning and the martial arts sequences wonderful.
