why do some Hotwheels have short cards and some long cards.?

I just started collecting hotwheels for jr. and Daddy started to get the collecting bug, so whats with the deal with the short carded hotwheels? are they worth more

Pretty certain it is to make them easier to stock. Short one can go on top of long one and take the same shelf space
