if i slick my hard drive, will i lose my itunes and mess up my ipod?

my computer is running really slo and messing up so the only way to fix it is to slick the hard drive. how can i make sure that i dont lose any of my music from my ipod??

Backup all your music onto a disc.

it will earse all your memory right? if so you can get a program to copy songs off you ipod called "iPod agent" at downloads.com. but it's much easeir to put the iformation on to an external hard drive
