With respect to the Futurama fans, I'm framing this question in the context of "adult contemporary FAMILY show"......meaning an animated program with a family (people related to each other) as its main focus.

It's a toss-up. I can't decide between Family Guy and The Oblongs. Those two are the funniest in their own rights. The Simpsons is just too old school and really starting to show the gray hairs.
