Some people say that it is, but I have read that you can sleep on your stomach while pregnant. There is fluid protecting your baby from getting hurt so they say its ok. For me when I started to look pregnant it became very hard for me to sleep on my stomach not because I thought it was hurting the baby but because it was just uncomfortable. Anyway as long as you are comfortable it should be fine.

Try not to worry - you need your rest and can't have an alarm set to go off whenever you fall into the 'wrong sleeping position.' Before too long your belly will ensure that rolling onto your tummy is no longer even a remote possibility. You are not crushing your baby - as he or she is cushioned in amniotic fluid and is perfectly safe! We're told to sleep on our left sides as much as possible to provide the best blood flow to the uterus - but women didn't know this for centuries and their babies were just fine...
Breathe... Relax... And best wishes!

I have 5 adult children and I never slept any other way but on my stomache. In the last mo. it was hard to do so I used to arrange a pillow so I didn't lay with full pressure on my stomach.
I don't see where it would hurt. I never slept on anything but my stomach and being pregnant didn't change that for me. I still lay on my stomach.
AS LONG as you are not uncomfortable you're fine .

No. It happens sometimes but your baby is well cushioned. Take my advice....
Go get a book called " what to expect when you are expecting". It's the pregnancy bible and will help with all these questions. Your question as well as many others that you would not expect is in there. It also gives you suggestions of sleeping positions to try. It's excellent in describing all of these little things that worry moms and help distinguish when something is "normal" or not.
Good Luck!

Its not a good idea to sleep on your belly. put a pillow on the side of you before you go to sleep and that will prevent you from turning on your belly in the middle of the night.

I don't know if it is harmful or not, but even before i took my pregnancy test, i would wake up on my stomach. Never slept on my stomach before in my life. Glad to know other women are experiencing it too.

I am not aware that it hurts the baby, because it's protected in a sack of liquid. But to ease your worries, you should ask your doctor next time you see your doc.

No, it's not a problem.
Sleeping on your side is best for YOU because it gives you the best blood flow to the lower part of your body. If you are physically comfortable on your tummy or on your back, then it's fine.
