She was a real life princess---royalty is always interesting, especailly to Americans. She was beautiful-even though she was married to a cad. She had a kind heart--she did a lot of charity work, especially if it involved children. She was the one royal in the House of Windsor who was real, not stuffy. She was adored by the British public. Plus, she died at a young age. Anyone who dies at young age is always interesting because you never know what they would have become. People are just as infatuated by James Dean and Marilyn Monroe and Kurt Cobain for that very same reason.

People are always and will always be infatuated with famous people. Princess Diana was not only famous, but she was royalty, beautiful, and worked for great causes. She also was involved in a scandalous life. People like to see famous "perfect" people screw up. It's human nature. In addition to all of that, she died at a very young age, in a very tragic way. I'm assuming many people feel that she did not get to live out her life the way she should have, and are bothered by her untimely death. Even in death, she's still worshiped and loved.

I don't think its any stranger than the whole JFK fascination. She was well loved by people worldwide and died a tragic death under circumstances that have fueled conspiracies that will live for decades.

She was a good girl. A humanitarian that wasn't ugly; which goes a long way (ha). She was a convenient celebrity who also happened to do great things.

i thought she was killed in a crash of some kind under a bridge or somewher like that a long time ago or is this a different one?
