Some people prefer to study in groups and have interactive games that cover the material. Other people find it more efficient to read the book by yourself in complete silence. I don't know you so I don't know what study method will work the best for you. The best thing to do is just try several different ways of studying and see which way works best to fit your personal needs.

Maybe the previous answer is right. It's absolutely personal, just try.
But a good way is by taking the main ideas from a text and try to fix them.
You can : write them down, make posters with them and stck them in your bedroom, make concepts maps, write down key words, comment with anybody else.
If you've got a visual memory , make diagrams, any kind of graphs with plenty of colours.
If you remember sounds, record on MP3 and take your podcast everywhere.
Studying and remembering is just a skill that needs training , if you try hard your results will be better and it's gonna be easier as time goes by.
Good luck
