Ok not that id EVER think this would a bad thing, but its getting out of hand. Im taking some pre-nursing class's, and due to the fact im in my final stage almost all the people in this class are nursing students as not that many men in my college are going down this track i am the only guy in this class ( i also do clinicians with them). Its cool, but now i have no fewer then 7 on me all the time. My question is how can i stay professional without upsetting all these girls. ( in any other setting this would be fine) I know that when you’re the only guy in a class of women this happens, but i never had anything like this go on. THANKS

Tell them you're already taken.
Stick w/ your initial intincts & don't get involved w/ your fellow students who are soon to become your fellow co-workers! That is a mess waiting to happen.

That makes me laugh. Well, more male nurses are appearing in hospitals, so it is not a total shock. What you are experiencing is that even though there are male nurses, they are few and far between. The belief that a nurse is a woman is still strong. You have to have a really good self-image to put up with all the ribbing and carrying on. You walked down that path, now you have to bear the consequences. Personally I believe being a Physician Assistant is a better choice. You could still cross over if your experiences get out of hand.

don't freak out for one. women are intellegent but yes men helped god to create women so therefore you have an advantage to us. i once was the only girl in a whole classroom of 60 people trying to become a train operater. of course i made it to the top 7 but i wasn't strong enough to pull the lever that starts and stops the train. for a small petite 18 year old girl to make up there with all the strong guys was a wonderful feeling and even though i failed i still felt great.
if ever you feel like you are overwhelmed by women consult in someone close to you for help with your studies, or else when you are in intership make sure to be around a male dr. such as a veterens hospital that will make you feel at home and more relaxed. or if you can't beat them, join them, ask to join one of their study groups.....get to know them.

Continue to be nice and treat each woman equally. Try not to show favor to any particular one, but always be a consistent gentleman. You have to get your 'personal life' on with a woman who is totally unrelated to the school experience; at least until you graduate. Professional respect is a big thing, and you will be getting a job with one or more of your classmates at some point in your career.

Remind them that they went to nursing school to become a nurse not hit on other nurses! (I'm a nurse too). No, really, just tell them that you are only interested in getting through nursing school for the time being, and that dating a class mate will only complicate an already difficult period of life.

Thats a good one???? I've never heard a guy wonder about something like this....Most of them are happy it happens,.....Just talk to them and be nice but don't touch and if one of them touches then just deal with it as best you can. Best of luck, even my husband would love to be in your shoes!!! lol

Just keep professional with them and let them know that you're there to attend school not get married or date your co-workers because you DO want to finish your degree. It'll be awkward but I guess you'll just have to get used to it since you're not finished with school yet.
