get some throttle body cleaner, then take off the snorkle that goes from the throttle body to the air cleaner.now spray the cleaner up into the throttle body and get a clean rag and clean it out, then start the car(it will be hard to start, but it will)then hold the throttle fast idle and spray into the body and let it run for a while until it runs smothly, then shut it down and put it back togeather.good luck.if you got trouble, you can e-mail me.

cross the plug wires as to make it 'back fire' back up through the throttle body ( be very, very careful!!! ). That will blow a lot of carbon deposits out of not only our throttle body, but your cylinder compression chambers around the valve inlets and outlets. You might be surprised after doing this, then a test drive, what will emit from your exhaust pipe.
Another way, I read this in a "Modern Science" and yes, it's happened to me as well. You need to know where the throttle link is under the hood and/or a helper to keep the engine revved up so it won't die during this procedure of spraying a fine mist of water into the intake in turn, producing hot steam. Hot steam will clean the gunk outta the whole system. Some 2ND WW II planes had 'steam injection' to keep the engine clean during the long grueling days of torture the fighter planes endured.

Well the throttle body has 1 or 2 injuctors in then. Unless you are talking about them, you have to run injuctor cleanse through then to clean them. THis is not a job for a week end mechanic. THisa needs professional care.
Other then that you really cant clean a throttle body.
