You should have been offered a "leather protection program or warrenty".. All leather should be maintained and protected but first it is important for you to know the type of leather you have. Some is pigmented (finished), and some is unfinished (nubuck, aniline,) here is a link to help with that.... > http://mobileleatherservice.com/LeatherTypes.html

Pigmented or finished leathers can almost always have a protector rubbed on.. Nubuck and suede need to be sprayed with a protective formula... If the manufacterer or store did not do this... You should very much consider calling a professional leather care company..

Much of the new finished leather on the market today is being designed to have an effect or sauvage two tone look. we are finding these leathers to be rather delicate and if left unattended to for a year or two start to peel or have color loss issues.. Again... You should consider a professional leather care company for this service...

For those of you that are already experiencing this. The sooner you address the issue the better...

Bottem line is YES!! get your leather protected when new... And then,, maintain your leather by having it cleaned, conditioned and re-protected once a year...

Contact the store where you bought it, or the manufacturer.
Different leathers may require different treatment.
