I am into soul music and jazz/hip hop. But just yesterday "Panama" was in my head and was tripping out on how dope Eddie's smooth solo was on that track! Yes, Van Halen is pinnicle Rock and Roll to be sure.

Van Halen is of my children's generation, but when the Lord asks, so who played the best guitar?, we of the boomers will almost unamimously nominate one Eddie Van Halen as the best Rock guitarist of all time. And we don't believe he sold his soul to anyone. The Lord always owned it.

I still listen to their LP's from my vinyl collection and I prefer their Dave Lee Roth period than Sammy Hagar (he's OK though!).
"You really got me" from their first album and "Eruption" that killer intro with those speedy metal riffs by Mr Eddie Van Halen!

Not often,but I have fond memories of the year I was 15 and someone on my bus would play Jump,and he always managed to time it so that they'd say "jump" just as the bus hit the same big hump on the road and we'd all jump out of our seats.

Saw VanHalen in Toronto just last year and they still rock! I would have to say "Right Now" is one of my faves and Where have all the good times gone? Dance the night away.
