I love it, my husband hates it. He says it's way too expensive for the amount of food you get. I agree it's too expensive, but I love the food, plus it's really fun with a group of people.

I have to agree with this review:
"If you are looking for a romantic night out or a fun place to hang out with just a few friends and talk for hours, and money isn't an object, there is no finer restaurant than the Melting Pot. The food is incredibly fresh (raw, in fact!) and the staff is clearly trained to please at any cost. The food can't be beat, the variety is awesome and the atmosphere is top rate."

Truth # 9 - Elegance = tiny portions. When I went we did the cheese course, then the “surf & turf” and ended with dessert. It doesn’t so much feel like a meal as a 2 1/2 hour endless snack. Next time I’d probably just go for dessert, good lord there’s not much better than fresh fruit dipped in quality chocolate.
I've been sorely tempted to buy a home fondue fountain. They have a nice looking large stainless one at Sams Club I might get. Link to a small one below.

I have been to the one on Pleasant Hill Road in Duluth, and it was cheaper than going to Dante's downtown, but still pricey. As others have mentioned...tiny portions but very tasty. Atleast at Dante's, you can sit on the ship and listen to some wonderful jazz for a small fee. I will say that the beauty of fondue is that you actually have time to relax and enjoy the company you are with. I have tried fondue at home without great results. I am still looking for a good recipe for true Swiss fondue with kiersche.

It's wonderful. I've never had anything there that I didn't like. Their potstickers are the best I've ever tasted. It's the perfect place for a really romantic date. It's a really long meal so make sure you don't have other stuff planned that you might be late for. When I went it took about 2 hours, not because service is slow or anything like that, it just takes a while to cook everything. But I liked having it be that long of a meal, it meant my date & I had more bonding time. :)

It's a fun place. The food is good but not great. The experience is why you go there. Dinner will take a couple of hours so be prepared to chat a bit.
