Where does the word pyjama come from ?

The word "pajama" came by the way of the Bengali word pajama, originally from the Persian words پايجامه Payjama meaning "leg garment."

oh, I always thought it was a funny French word, but I guess it comes from India like the others say. Did the first pyjamas have rocketships drawn on them, or something else??
