there is no life after death

2006-07-17 10:09:04 · answer #1 · answered by Solveiga 5 · 0 1

If so, are you already dead and just think you are alive?
Yes, there is life after death, since matter canot be created or destroyed, but just changes shape.
But what does it look like? Will we have bodies, or minds, or memories of this trip? Will we be punished for not believing the right fairy tale? Will we be a king or slave? A rock?
My approach is to stop thinking and worrying about life after death and concentrate of having a life here. Chances are, if you do a good job here, you will do a good job in the next phase. I don't think there is heaven, devils, and hell. That is just too boring and convenient for people to use for power over others.
I like the idea of returning as a redbud tree hanging over a river.

Ain't that the million dollar question. Depending on who answers, this could be a question of theology, philosophy, science or cynicism.

I believe there is life after death. Why? Because much of us is immaterial, which does not decay like the physical does.

What happens to us? Experts have debated that through the course of time.

Amused one is right. We can't possibly comprehend whatever it is, because we are a finite species and the afterlife (deducibly) must operate in infinite terms (which is not comprehensible to finite beings). But, he's not correct in saying no to angels with harps. Why? Because he doesn't know. And, to say otherwise is narcissistic. I don't think there will be angels with harps either...necessarily. But, to say that for sure goes beyond my knowledge.

John 3: 16
For God so loved the world that he gace his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
John 14: 6
Jesus said I'm the way, the truth, the life. no one comes to the father except through me.
Depends on where you choose to go, eternal life is a >choice<
Revelation 22: 14
Blessed are those who wash their robes, (not literally, it means who have rid their lives of sin) that they may have the right to the tree of life and may go through the gates into the city.(heaven)

(first you have to claim Jesus as your Lord and Saviour, and turn away from all the falsehoods and lies this world has to offer). life here will not get easier and it won't be all cream puffs, but better than the alternative of H---

Heaven, with angels and harps? No....

Hell, with pits of fire and burning, wailing souls? No...

Reincarnation? No... because with my luck, I'd wind up on the bottom of the food chain.

I truly believe that our mortal bones, blood & beating heart are but one small step in a long amazing journey, though i'm not sure where the journey will take us.

Life after death? Yes... but not in any manner we as humans could ever comprehend.

I believe in reincarnation.

There is a place I will go to "rest" between lives. It is a place of perfect peace and balance where I can sit and review what I have learned and how I have grown in this life.

It all depends in what you believe in. If you belive like the epyptians did, then you'll go where ever the God icarus, i believe it is, decides where you go, or if your Chirstian, then depending what kind of life you led, you'll go to heaven of hell.

Depends on what you believe in. In my case, I believe that I will either go to heaven or purgatory, preferably heaven. :)
