You need either a new key or thingy that you put the key in. The key would be the cheapest to replace.
Do not simply copy the key. Get the key code for the vehicle and have it made from that at a dealer.

The next time you go to crank up, try pushing the key in and turning at the same time. If it still doesn't work the first time have it checked out by a mechanic because htere may be a problem the untrained eye can't identify. Whatever you do, DONT try to force it; You would hate to break your key in the ignition. Then you would have to pay for a new one.

Believe me, it has nothing to do certain makes and models of car. Most cars have it. I've had that or a simlar prob with my 94 Acclaim. Just Saturday, I came out after ain interview, kept trying to start the car. But the key wouldn't turn. So I used my fingers to turn the black thing beneath the key and it turned. Each time after that, no prob, the key turns. I imagine it has something to do with the summer heat.

Make sure the front tires aren't in a bind. That can make the key get stuck. Try wiggling the steering wheel just a little and see if that helps.

Get a new key. The old one is probably worn out, or the ignition is worn out. You can take it to a lock smith, 1/2 hour and he can re do it. Price - around $50

They say to rub a graphite pencil lead all over it so it will not stick to the lock mechanism. Otherwise, I'd take it back to where I got the car and have them fix the mechanism or give you a better-fitting key.

Try wiggling the steering wheel when your key gets stuck. The steering wheel probably is locked.
