What difference does it make? If you both are happy with how it all works out, really, does it make a difference?

Or is there something not being said? Is there someone else that is asking, and you are getting the info for her (him)?

You can try holding it along your hand and palm, say with your fingertips at one end, and remember where it ends, and measure it later.
