The check engine light is not related to you spraying you compressor with Liquid Wrench. And the metal shavings indicate you need a new A/C compressor, again, will not turn on the light.

You should probably go to a Chevrolet Dealer and have them diagnose the light for you. They can also give you an estimate to replace your A/C compressor while you are there. Probably going to run about $750.00 on your compressor.

Good Luck

The Liquid Wrench made belt stop squeeking by lubricating it. The wrong thing to do with a belt. The oil will also ruin the ruber. Use a Coke next time (not diet). The engine light is on because the high-side of your a/c is starved without the compressor actually running when the clutch tells the system it should be.

The liquid wrench may have gotten into your alternator and damaged it.
Bring the alternator into any major auto parts store and have it tested.
The squeaking was coming from a worn serpentine belt. It's time to replace it.
Also check the Serpentine belt idler pulley for wear. The bearings wear out on this part.

Ok what you've done now is oiled up all your pulleys. What you should have done is replace your belt. Now you have to take the belt off, wash all your puuleys with soap and water and then put a new belt on.

That sound won't be fixed with WD-40 as your compressor clutch is shot.
