Modeling and Acting with acne?

Question

I really want to be a model or act but i have acne and i use ProActiv and it didnt do anything so i have pretty much decided that i have acne and there is nothing i can do about it but is there any way i could do modeling or acting WITH acne? btw im 13

Yeah, i know how you feel. To tell ya the truth, i dont think people can model with acne, but maybe u can act? i've always wanted to model too, but acne always got in my way. I still want to try to pursue modeling, but maybe i'll wait a while til everything clears up. You're only 13, so don't worry about anything. Most of the supermodels you see now started when they were about 16 or 17 so just give it time. =) btw im 14

It is extremely unlikely that you could model with or without acne. Very few "models" actually work in the business. However, if by some miracle you were to work as a model, acne can be easily removed by a photographer using certain types of software (all professionals use digitial photography these days). Acting is more problematic but they can do anything (and I do mean ANYTHING) with make up these days. Not that it matters though. You have better chances of winning the lottery than breaking into the business.

I agree with you if you want to get rid of your acne, try asking your doctor for Acutane, it's really strong stuff that makes your skin really dry and if you are having sex or not (hopefully not, you are way too young) they make you go on birth control b/c in the case that it just so happens, your baby will most definitely be deformed in some way. But it most definitely works, you on it for about 6 months and your acne never ever comes back after that.
But don't get too stressed over becoming a model, it's not the greatest thing in the world, live your life how you want, be free, when your a model you're not free anymore. Believe me, I've been there. Keep your grades up and you can be anything you want.

Yes, you can do acting with acne (I don't know about modeling), you just need to study acting and then work at it to become good at it, practice is the best thing. Then go to local playhouses and theaters to audition and act. You will be cast depending on your acting talents and personal opinions. If you want to do TV acting then it will be harder due to being a look thing, but no undoable, take some classes for acting on camera and they can help you on the next step. Also get a book on acting like "Breaking into Acting for Dummies" so you can learn more.

at 13, it's hard to get rid of acne. If you want to do acting a modelling, you will need to invest in a good dermatologist.

You can use loofa sponges on your back and body but your face will take extra care, maybe exfoliation will help or maybe your dermatologist will have the perfect cure right off the bat.

You can certainly act with acne but modeling is sooooooo picky BUT check with a dermatologist. there is a drug called accutane that in some cases gets rid of acne. WARNING it does have some potential side effects and you will need to see your doctor almost weekly. at first. the generic name is isotretinoin.

Dont you worry bout your acne babe . I am a model and have acne which comes and goes. so by the time you reach to a age where the acne does'nt remaiin constant you will surely be a modle.

You could be a hand or foot model.....Look in a magazine, how many of the models have acne.....But don't worry you will probably grow out of the acne...

I think you can still act with acne.

Wash your face three times a day, don't touch your face with dirty hands; drink more water.

You're only 13, i'm sure it's just puberty, you'll clear up of acne, if not, just make an appointment, to see a Dermatologist.
