It is a very big black patch and I am light complexioned. this makes me uncomfortable

The "how-to" on treatment depends on what kind it is. A good dermatologist or plastic surgeon can give you the best idea on how to take care of it because of their years of experience and training. We average schmoes on here aren't experts on these things and can end up giving you some bad information...like cheese graters and self-amputation.

you can try laser treatment, but if thats abit expensive try south beach skin solutions products. There products are new and are meant to be really good and concentrate on reducing melanin production. They are also 100% safe to use with natural ingredients. go on their website to find out more. You'l have to save abit but I think it will be worth it when you see the birth mark fading.

Give it time it will fade, mine did. My doc said the do not remove those "Birth Marks"

My fiancee had a birthmark on her neck. She had laser treatment to remove the worst of it Unfortunately, it was very painful and was not totally effective.

I would see your doctor about it, they should provide for it on the NHS (if you re in UK)

where is it? I had mine cut out by my doctor. It hurt a bit, but healed up in about 10 days

go see the doc and see what can be done for it

Some times you can do it with lasers but it is very expenceive

depends where it is.. modern science will probably be able to remove it and replace the skin. or if its on a limb just cut it off.

you can't remove birth marks unless you do laser
