well the reason is my friend is more in to him than i do. but i do like him a lot.

If she never went out with him,,, did he seem interested in her? AND YOU
both? AT the same time?
if he would go out with the both of you, or either one, that is not real good, otherwise, talk to her, and she how she reacts, a good friend is more important than a guy you dont really know,,

I believe that if your friend knew that you liked this guy...then the both of yall had a chance in getting his invitation...take a chance..any friends that get mad over a guy arent friends at all! I think that if you like him that much...she should understand! Matter of fact she will understand if she is a true friend...i mean she never was with him so its all gud!

Does your friend know? If she does, talk to her and see what she says. Maybe she will be happy for you. BUt otherwise, i dont think you should. Thats backstabbing.
