You'd probably be surprised to know that most of today's music has it's origins in jazz and that most of the serious popular musicians out there listen to jazz.

Jazz is GREAT. There are many, many, many, many, many different styles of jazz. You just haven't found the right one yet. An acoustic piano, drum and bass trio is my favorite. Check out Money Jungle by Duke Ellington with Charles Mingus and Max Roach.

Jazz music is very classic, and even in today's music it is being incorporated into new age pop, and rock.

You are too young to understand and appreciate jazz. Listen to some Miles Davis or Charlie Parker or John Coltrane and TRY to say today's crap is better.

I'm not too crazy about jazz either though it beats rap and hip hop! I do like the song On Broadway though.

I like it, and really love a little segment of jazz, the experimental/noise/free-jazz, like toshinori kondo or butcher
But I dont think you will like it more, or will understand why others like it, by these answeres.

I like certain types of jazz and dislike others. Try a bit of cool jazz such as Us3 or St.Germain.
