It depends on what you have done and how close of a relationship you have with that person. You need to think of what you have done and imagine your that emotionally wounded person. How would you feel or react. Saying sorry doesn't always work, nor does getting on your knees and swearing your life to them. All you need to do is communicate. Get the hurt person and have a discussion about your feelings, but most importantly theirs. Tell them how you truly feel and remind them of how much they mean to you. How much you need them. If you do, of coarse. That always helps and reminds both of you of the meaning of love, forgiveness, friendship, and understanding.

I think acknowledging (sp?) their hurt helps a lot. Tell them you know that it hurt them and you understand why. Acknowledgement is a very powerful thing, I've found. It shows that you're not just saying "sorry" to make the incident go away.

you should send them a bouquet of flowers to their door and in the card say how what you did was completely wrong and now you realise it. Say "I understand if you don't forgive me, but you mean a lot to me and I am extremely sorry, with all my heart."

Do what you can to right thw rong and apologize. Then you just have to sit back and wait for forgiveness... which you need to accept may never come.
