The conflicts gaining media coverage at the present seem to be localised to the warring factions; it isn't likely to spill over into a global conflict. I hope not anyway.

I doubt we'll be involved in a prolonged war much like the ones in the 20th century, since weapons technology has evolved at a frightening rate. So if a global conflict were to erupt, there wouldn't be many survivors.

It is saddening, but you'll find the wars in the middle east are tragedies waiting to happen. The one country everyone seems to be ignoring is North Korea. The least likely can be the most dangerous.

WW III can not happen. It would be a nuclear war, and that has no winner. We are in a state where the countries who control the nuclear weapons are covertly starting war and civil unrest in smaller countries who have no such defenses, in order to keep those countries in a state of lite chaos, so that they will never develop into a position that they could pose a threat to those larger aforementioned controlling countries.

If you destroy the water, power, and media supply of a country, there is no way to get organized enough to pose a threat.

Like wise, if you cause destruction in a controlling country, then blame it on another country, who though is quite incapable of the feat, is portrayed otherwise by the media who, in the end controls most of the wealth in the country and eventually controls politics and it's figures like puppets... is this a run-on sentence?... The people (voters) who amusingly enough think their vote means something, will support a war like the one in Iraq (I prefer to call it an occupancy), or be sold on the fact that they should "support the troops" if not the war. (A brilliant marketing scheme eh?) When a few soldiers die, then support for some reason goes through the roof. Of course the civilization that is being destroyed is not the peoples concern, nor the fact that to every one American soldier, 100 Iraqi women and children are being killed in the name of big business (oil).

So again, the powers that be are not going to let a war happen, because of the fact that they are collaborating and conspiring to keep the rest of the world in abject poverty and disarray... for in order to keep a good democracy, and in order for the top 5% of the people to control 90% of the wealth, there must be at least 15% of the rest of the people in total depraved poverty.

... Welcome to Earth.

P.S. I think i deserve a reward for this answer, as there are no misspelled words!

I don't think that we are currently looking at actions that will lead to WWIII. The fighting in the Middle East has gotten out of hand but I think after they blow off some steam It will be all over.

No, Isreal is talking about peace. Lebanon is asking for a cease fire. North Korea isn't as big of a threat as everyone thinks, Iraq and Afganistan is messed up but we won't leave without fixing it.

And the best reason WW3 won't happen is (drum roll please).......
George Bush's term is almost up!!!!!

It's looking pretty scary. Why does everyone want to have nukes? They are expensive, and nobody ever uses them because they would get blasted back by someone else. I just don't understand the thinking of people in the middle east.

The king called up his jet fighters
He said you better earn your pay
Drop your bombs between the minarets
Down the Casbah way

As soon as Sharif was
Chauffeured outta there
The jet pilots tuned to
The cockpit radio blare

As soon as Shareef was
Outta their hair
The jet pilots wailed

The shareef don't like it
Rockin' the Casbah

Yes. And the sad part is that I think we started building up to it the moment the Cold War began, de-fused for a short bit, and are now back to it.

World war? I thought it was just us and Iraq. Well it will all be over in 2008 when we elect someone else as president.
