The reason I say that is I know Kubrick, Pulanski, Kurosawa, Coppola are all great, but I am looking for your favorite from the last 10 to 15 years. People who still have a bright future, and arent considered an all time great yet. Who is your modern day favorite?

Depends on Genre... I like Eli Roth, Wes Anderson, as far as new ones. I also think Ridley Scott can do no wrong- but he's been around a while...

My current favorites all happen to be Japanese: Takichi Miike, "Beat" Takichi Kitano but I think both are a "bit too much" for a lot of more mainstream movie fans, if you like something unusual and you've a strong stomach you might like the strange concepts they explore. Hayio Miazaki makes children's cartoons that are really deep and I recomend them to absolutly everyone!

*sorry, I'm half asleep and I can't for the life of me think how to spell Takichi properly! I'm sure all the other names are spelt correctly!
