loan officer is a junk answer. companies will hire anybody to be a loan officer. I have friends that are loan officers that graduated with degrees in chemistry and health science.

CFA is a good certification to get if you are interested in the analyst track. However, many consider it difficult because the pass rate for the first exam is in the 30% range. I think that this is a good thing, it makes my certification much more valuable because not anybody can get it.

The perfect job really depends on what you want in life.

You can do corporate finance, investments, banking, insurance, government jobs (IRS), etc. The list goes on forever.

Its tough to give you an answer for the perfect job. I think you need to figure out what you like.

My suggestion. Join the Financial Management Association (FMA). They will send you a little book in the mail and discuss various finance positions. This might help you figure out what exactly you want to do.

Depends on your priorities and stage in life - if you're currently an undergrad and want prestige now that will launch you into b-school, go into investment banking and forfiet the next 2yrs of your life. If you want to build relationships with people and a more relaxed schedule, go into financial planning. If you want to be smart, arrogant, and make a big bonus for your hard work, go work at a hedge fund - if you can land a position.

I suggest you to read about the different titles available to you. Right now, I'm interested in CFA and went to lunch with many people in finance or accounting and these lunchs are very interesting. Talk to real people; they'll be happy to give you feedback about their job.
