Take ARNICA 30C + RHUS TOX 30C and HYPERICUM 30C together thrice a day half hour before or after meals always on an empty stomach.Avoid Chocolates Coffee Mints Red Meat , Carbonated and Alcoholic Drinks while taking homeopathic Remedies. Keep me posted after taking the said remedies for three days regularly. To start the medication you can take three four four doses at 15 to 30 minutes intervals till you start feeling relief after that just thrice a day will be enough till 100% cure.
Take care and God Bless you !

As a massage therapist, i would say to try locating a certified or licensed therapist in your area or get your doc to give you a referal. Massage will not solve your herniated disk problem, that will only be solved by surgery, however massage CAN assist by relieving pain temporarly. IMO, considering your disk is herniated in the lumbar spine (lower back), it might be pertruding or buldging against a nerve within your spinal column that travels down into your hip and legs. Unless told that it is 100% arthritis, I would bet that this arthritic pain is from the disk in your lower back and not the hip joint itself. Arthritis is when the fluid in the joints are inflammed. It is hard to tell when your not present and medical background is disclosed.
Like I always say some relief is better than none. But please be careful on choosing a therapist, some states are not recommending therapist to take any exams or have any kind of certification. And in your case, you need someone who knows what they are doing or you'll end up hurt more or even paralized. Be sure to tell the therapist about your medical background and they will more than likely have to contact your doc to sign a release form giving them the ok. If they don't... I would reconsider or make sure you both have insurance. I gave a site that you can find a therapist close to you. Remember, massage can help you before & after surgery, it helps reduce scar tissue, increases blood flow, which can shorten the recovery/healing time, & decrease pain & stress and much more. If it is arthritis and not the disk.... then I would sugguest that you'll need an antiflammatory or over the counter arthritis pain releiver (like Bayer) to help. Alternatively, you can help yourself by keeping the joint in motion more frequently, stretching / excersising the joint, and use ice; NOT HEAT! Heat will only increase the burning sensation. At your age, if you aren't already, you need to increase your calcium intake to help your bones stay healty from within. I hope you find relief and good people to help you out. Good Luck

Well, there is one thing you should try first:

Go for a manual one-time treatment called Atlasprofilax. The spine is set straight, and the pressure on the discs is distributed much better so they can recover in some time.

And it's really worth travelling far - at present, the treatment is available in California and Europe, costing around 200 Dollars. Good luck!

BTW: This treatment does not contain any known risks (until now 80000 persons treated) and is a much better solution than a surgery which leads to problems with the neighbouring discs as well...

I have a testimony from a gentleman who had struggled with the pain of a herniated disk as he visited doctors and tried medicine that didn't work and tore up his stomach. Surgery was the only option they offered him. Finally, he gave up and chose a different direction - a chiropractor, a massage therapist and two natural supplements - Shaklee Joint Health Complex and Osteo-Matrix (calcium-magnesium product). The pain eased away never to return.

I suggest a chiropractor...and all the common suggested things to do for preventative measures...ie drink enough water (needed to cushion joints), good daily vitamin...eat healthier, if not already..and exercise - yoga and some weight resistance would be good. Can always follow up with reg doctor etc...also some of it is common...as I know I experienced periodic issues with much of what you described...but never a huge issue and seemed to rectify itself over time
