My fave at the beginning of the tournament was Spain. But they fell apart. I am beginning to wonder if there really is a curse on them. But in order to enjoy the world cup you need to have a favorite. So I ended up choosing Portugal. They didn't win FIFA's "most entertaining team" award for nothing. I loved how they played and this was the first time I saw Cristiano Ronaldo move.
The ending was lukewarm for me. I didn't care anymore and ended up leaning towards the Italian side somewhat because Buffon is great but mainly because I love Italian food.

Okay, i started following the world cup in 2002, and i just thought that it was awesome. So when June 2006 came along, i was just so excited. The world cup just brings the world together because the whole world is a fan of soccer (cept america) and everyone just comes together to watch a game. I also loved watching the fans! The fans were so supportive and excited and they were so into the game! I was rooting for the U.S., England, Brazil, and Germany. I was shocked that Brazil got eliminated by France and the Portugal beat England. So many emotions are involved in the tournament and that's what makes it so beautiful. I thought the ending was very exciting. Penalty kicks are always fun to watch. =) Though, i feel sorry for that one guy that missed the kick for France..... =/ he probably got kicked outa France or sumtin.....

It wasnt the best World Cup. I was really going for England and Germany. It just sucked that England lost to portugal. In the Final i was going for France so i didnt like the way it ended. Stupid penalty kicks!

This has to be the most match fixed world cup I have ever seen, even the 2002 world cup was not that cheaty, I really hope that the next cups won't be worst and more cheaty than this and certain referees like Medina Cantalejo should not be allowed to be referees anymore

my fave teams are : germany portugal spain england france
i am happy bcoz most of my fave teams made it to the semi finals : germany portugal and france
i am sad for spain bcoz they really are good and they have the best league after italy
every thin about the world cup was good except the fact tht italy won because they didnt kill them selves and didnt make any effort i mean to reach the finals they met ukraine in round 8 and australia in roun 16 and australia almost won except for tht unfair penalty
however france played brazil and spain and i think they were difficult matches
germany played against ARGENTINA AND SWEDEN and they were also difficult
pORTUGAL the hardest of all played against: netherlands and england....what is even harder thn tht...they really wanted tht trophy unfortunatly france won with an unfairly penalty too
so i think some countries didnt take the rights
but good luck to every country in the next tournament 2010

It wasn't the worst World cup I've seen, but it wasn't the best. I'm glad Italy won, (I always root for them) but this cup, I didn't see anyone who really deserved the trophy, not like in past cups where the winner really earned it through hard work, amazing plays, sacrifice and good sportsmanship.

I couldn't be happier, Italy have won the World Cup!!!!! I would have preferred to go in to the finals with Portugal but hey we can't have it all!!!
2006 has been the best after 1982 of course ( the last time that Italy has won!!!!)

I thought in this one they didn't even really try like Brazil was too confident and Italy against France was such a cheap match!Also that it was unfair like Portugal got like 16 yellow or red cards!Everyone was saying that the referee got payed or something....?Oh and my favorites were Germany,France and Argentina (mexico also).

I thought that England was good until the match against Portugal.
France kicked butt until the finals.
Italy farted too much, but kicked butt.
I thought that Zidane should not have headbutted Materazzi, and gget a red card.
France could have won.
