It's OK to be cautious, but taking it to the extreme is like driving only in the right lane of the interstate for the rest of your life.
Even being cautious sometimes too can be the wrong decision.
The option is called taking a calculated risk... go for it once in a while.

It's like should you do some skateboard jump across some rooftops. And you are trying to decide if you can make it or not. You can error on the side of caution, and not try to make the jump. Or you can error the otherway and fall to the ground.
