you will have to pee in a cup to test your hormone levels, and some docs do a blood test as well. they won't give you an ultrasound until there is something big enough to see (I forget which month, but I think the first one is around 16 weeks or so), or if you are having a problem (ie pain, cramps, etc)
good luck (if that's what you want)

They will give you a urin test to look for hormones that indicate that you are pregnant. If it is positive, they will try to figure out the most accurate date of conception through asking you questions like the date of your last manstural period. They may also examine your uterus by pushing gently on your stomache to see how big it is. This will help them determine how far alone you are. Most doctors will schedule you for an ultra sound within the next 2-4 weeks after the initial positive test to determine an exact due date and to see if there are any complications or issues that need to be looked at. Good Luck.

when i went in to see if i was pregnant the first thing they do is ask you the normal questions such as last period wether it was normal or not some ask when the last time you had unprotected sex was. after they ask you all the stupid questions then they have you pee in a cup and wait about five minutes to see the results if you are unhappy with them you can request a blood pregnancy test in which they will draw some blood and send it away and you will have the results in about a week if i remember right. about the ultrasound they usually won't give you one untill around month 4 or 5 unless you are paying for it yourself or have a medical problem that require it. I hope this info helps and good luck!

Your doctor will probably take blood to see if you are pregnant. Not everyone will have a positive urine test if they are pregnant. Sometimes the hormone does not show in urine. Your doctor will ask when your last period was and any other health issues that may be the cause of you not having a period. Your doctor may also do a pelvic exam. Ultrasound comes in later. Hope this helps. Take care!!!

O.k. they'll check your urine if your not 4 months along then they cant usually do an ultrasound. One of my good friends was about 3 months along and she thought she miscarried so she went to the hospital and they had to fill her up with saline before they could give her an ultrasound, but they good news is technology is improved in most doctor offices so if your just wanting to hear a heart beat then they can do that there if your not too far along then there is no point in a ultrasound it will just look like a big blob!

UH OH!! Ok girl, He'll ask u to not drink or smoke, advise you on dietary habits and probably tell you to get the ultrasound after the 5th month. Probably looking at some blood work too but thats no worse than giving blood to the Red Cross, or whatever. Oh and Good Luck!

No, you dont usually get an ultrasound until around 3 months. And they dont generally do one on the spot unless its an emergency or they have concerns. They usually set you up an appt. for around that time. They will do a urine test or a blood test to see if you are pregnant. Urine results are instant..many times you have to wait a few days on the bloodwork.

They can do a simple urine test, or they can do a blood test to see what your blood count is. It all depends...
If you are early on in your pregnancy, there is really no need for an ultrasound unless you are having complications.... and it's expensive too.
Some insurances will only allow so many ultrasounds that are not done for a serious reason.

Your doctor will do a urine test on you and if that is inconclusive they will do a blood test on you. Then if you are pregnant and are unsure of how far along you might be they will order an ultrasound for a later date either in their office or at the hospital.

He will have you take the same test that you can buy a Wal Mart or any other place. It will cost a lot less. If you are pregnant then see the Dr. No ultra sound at this point. Needless test cost a lot, and sometimes are not good for the baby.
