Do you mean on you or just in the bottle. After you spray yourself with perfume it really depends on your body PH and the quality of the parfume as far as how long it will last.

In a bottle the smell might change a little, remeber it's all the chemicals and depends on where you leave it (ie, in the car, at home)

Some good quality oil extract based ones smell even better when they get older, others not the same as they were when you bought them

I have not really used one that had gone bad, and the oldest one I had was about 10 years old.!!!!!!

Eau de toilette lasts longer than eau de cologne, but not as long as eau de parfum. Perfumes have top notes, heart, or middle notes, and bottom notes. The top note is what you notice first, but it wears off. Then you have the heart and the bottom notes. The heart is the main scent of the perfume, and the bottom is something rich under it. These are what you'll smell for the most time.
Heat makes perfume more noticeable, so putting it somewhere like your chest or your neck makes it more noticeable than somewhere like your wrists.

It depends on the quality. The higher the content of oil the longer it will last. Like something from Jovan at a drugstore for $10.00 a bottle will have less oil with more alchohol and water. So it will not last that long. Channel for example has a very high oil content which is why it is so expensive. It will last much longer. I use only high end cologne. I spray in the morning for work. The family still smells it on me in the evening when I come home. That is 10 hours.

Do you mean inside the bottle? I was offered a bottle of perfume many years ago and the smell is still great. Of course, on your body it won't last much longer than 24 hours.

as long as the seal is tight it can last indefinitely... especially if it has never been opened... all toilette's are very light to begin with so a regular perfume would be stronger and last longer..

They'll usually last on the shelf for a couple of years if you keep them in a dark place. They go bad more quickly if they're subjected to heat or light.

It all depends on the chemistry of your body. All people are different.
